This is the second set of stationary that I made for a friend. Don't you just love it?

Sunday, November 7, 2010

I got an order for 3 sets of personalized stationary for teacher gifts-- what a great idea! Sets include 6 cards, 6 envelopes (with initial stamped on back and decorative item on front), and a magnetic book mark. Here is my first completed set:

I ordered some expired stamps last week. I know, why expired? As a hobby demonstrator who sometimes does card classes for my friends, I don't usually care if they are current or not--- I just get what I like and what I think I will use. I got 2 princess sets because well, I do have a princess wanna be living here and I thought she would have fun with them.

I decided that we would make wrapping paper for my cousin's daughter's birthday gift. Emily kept bugging me all week about when we were going to make the wrapping paper. On Saturday, last minute of course (the party was Saturday afternoon), we sat down to do it. I showed her how to ink the stamps and let her go. I did have to stop her because she would have kept at it until it was just one big color splotch on the paper. She was not a happy girl! I added the "Happy Birthday" stamping when she was done. I think it turned out wonderful!

Bookmarks

I got on a bookmark making kick in August. My friend, Jami had asked me to make her some so after several weeks, I finally sat down to make them. I pretty much used all scraps. There are magnets between the folded paper so they can be clipped to pages.

HALLOWEEN!!!!!

I LOVE HALLOWEEN!!!!!! A LOT!!!!!

Felt a little adventurous and decided to make bag tags for Emily's pre-school class. so fun! here they are! love them!!!!

Emily's teacher was going to have them make treat bags for the trunk or treat at their party but I told her I saw the cutest bags and wanted to get them. I got them at Meijer. The girls (5) got the pink, and the boys (10) got the skulls. I even made one for Emily's BFF, who is in the afternoon class.

Personalized Stationary

well, I've been doing some crafting but I've been very lax about posting the pics! I made this personalized stationary this weekend.

Bookmark made with the Two Tags die:

I started this last set maybe 2 years ago but just finished it today. It's made with the Baja Breeze patterns designer series paper. I've decided that I really love this color!

Card making class today....such fun! I've missed my girls! Amy returned for more torture :D I think it was her second time staming/card making and I'm afraid I'm not such a good teacher. Fortunately, I had 2 seasoned class attenders, Danielle and Rachel, so they were able to help out too. Here are Rachel and Danielle's creations (Amy had to go early and I forgot to get pics of her cards). I love that they both put their own spin on things and make cards to fulfill their needs! (let me apologize in advance for the pics being in a single column. I can't seem to understand the way this blogger works when updating and really? I don't have the patience to figure it out!!!)

Here are the sample cards:

The next 2 were made from scrapbook pages that I absolutely LOVE!

Rachel needed Thank You cards:

Danielle needed Birthday cards:

My bff asked me to make a Valentine's Day card for her niece, the original Emily Monster. She wanted a monster stamp or something. I did what I could and this is what I came up with:

hehe....remind you of Ms. Pac-Man?

Not my best work but with all the things going on around here, I liked it and so did my bff ---that was the most important thing :)

At our last downline meeting, Bev, Erin and I worked on technique cards for a sample board Bev and Erin were putting together for a scrapbook crop they were going to. These are the 3 cards I did:

stained glass: vellum paper, blender pens, ink

watercoloring: blender pen and ink

2 step stamping, embossing

I totallly love the last card and plan to use the layout A LOT!!!

Erin, Bev and I met for our downline meeting today. My assignment was to come up with a spring card using a stamp set from the occasions mini catalog. I found this card from Gretchen Barron's blog and loved it. I think these colors are fabulous! The bottom card I used her recipe and sponged the colors after stamping. The top card was without the sponging and I really like it better. I still want to play around with the other color combos that she had...they are all awesome!

Erin's assignment was to copy the scrapbook page in our Stampin' Success magazine. There were so many flowers from the pretties kit that she decided to case one from this month's magazine but used different colors. I like how it turned out. I obviously have to add my picture :)

Bev also had a card for us to make with a stamp set from the occasions mini catalog. The set is Garden from the Heart. My greeting is from the free Sale-A-Bration set Whimsical Words. Cute and simple but looks labor intensive :)

Bev also brought us this cute little gift idea. It's using the Sending Love Designer Series Paper.

The flower on the inside is punched from the new Extra Large Fancy Flower punch and greeting stamped with the Whimsical Words set. She had planned for us to put the punched out flower on the front but with the way the Sending Love piece was cut, I didn't think I needed anything else on the front.

FINALLY! This is a project that Bev and Erin made at Lori's back at the beginning of January. I had to borrow the stamp set from Erin to finish it. It's using the matchbox die that is used with the Big Shot (die cutting machine).

With All My Heart stamp set, the extra large Fancy Flower punch and Sending Love Epoxy brads. These items are all found on pages 12-13 of the mini catalog:

We will also make 2 very special Valentine's Day cards using the treat cups that can be found on pages 20-21 of the catalog....very cute!!! Please rsvp if you are able to attend!!!

On Sunday, January 3, 2010, Erin, Bev and I were scheduled to go to Lori's for a downline meeting. Lori is Bev's upline...so I think she is called my Gramma upline--lol. I ended up not going because of family stuff. My brother, sister in law and niece had left to return to Pittsburgh on the 2nd and our schedule was off so I wanted to stay home and get things in order. Erin and Bev went and Lori, well, was her over-indulgent self (she spoils us so!! thanks Lori!!!)!!!! Erin brought me back lots of projects to work on that they had made while there. so far, I LOVE THEM ALL!!!!! I did 4 cards today and enjoyed working on them. It helps when someone does all the prep work for you :) The colors are a little off as it is late afternoon (4:35 pm and it's still light out-- wow!) but here they are:

I love the bunny stamp--- and it is made all the cuter by having a little bit of his ear "bitten" off. And the butterflies....oh the butterflies! I kept seeing them on blogs and had no idea what they were or where they came from. I totally missed the cute little embosslits die in the mini catalog...don't think that wasn't one of the first things on my next order.

Our girl here is "Tote-ally Tess" and although she didn't initially spark my interest, after seeing this card, I decided I like her.....A LOT! She comes with a tote bag, apron, stamp, flower, card, scissors, stampin' wheel and marker. Perfect for the stamin' crafter! The bottom card is made from the Sending Love Speciality Designer Series Paper from the occasions mini catalog and the friend stamp is from the With All my Heart stamp set, both of which I have and plan to duplicate this card in my next class. The ribbon is satin and is also on my next order.

Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoyed my creations from today. I have lots more to make so expect to see those finished projects in the coming days.

Sale-A-Bration

It's that time of year again for Stampin' Up's Sale-A-Bration. For every $50 you spend in product, you get a free stamp set from this cataloge:

On the last page of the cataloge, there is a list of stamp sets from the big cataloge that can also be received free with a $50 product purchase. Erin, Bev and I went through the list to make cards with the stamp sets to show customers. Here are the 2 card samples I made last night and today:

Set on the left is Wow Flowers; set on the right is Hello Again.
